Fossils of the Largest Dinosaur Have Been Discovered by Researchers

Researchers of Museum Paleontology Egidio Feruglio have announced this week, they have found fossils of largest dinosaur and they believe the largest creature named as sauropod dinosaur have walked the earth. They assumed the largest creature Tyrannosaurus must have looked like a pipsqueak and the researchers have discovered the fossil in the Patagonia region of Argentina. The director of Museo Paleontologico Egidio Feruglio, Argentina has discovered the fossils of dinausors in a good condition and among the fossils they have got species of neck, back, legs and also the vertebrae of the tail.  The paleontological treasure has been measured by a team and they have estimated the size and weight of dinosaurs.

When compared with other findings, the fossil is considered to be the largest dinosaur ever. Dr Ruben Cueno have estimated weight of roughly 73 tons and the huge thigh bones have measured 40m long and 20m tall. The of dinosaur fossils were as heavy as 14 African elephants and heavier than Argentinosaurus. Researchers believe they belong to the new species of titanosaur. The bones were first noticed by local farm workers when something unusual came out of the ground.

Cuneo told to ABC news, the bones look absolutely different from that of horse, llamas and sheep. The biggest animal has taken the title of the largest dinosaur, but it doesn’t have a name yet. The scientist believes the new species has been dating since late Cretaceous period. The unearthed parts of skeletons were about 150 bones in total. The giant animal dinosaur fossils have been known to walk on the earth between 95 and 100 million years ago. The world’s biggest dinosaur is considered to be a similar type of Sauropod.

At the beginning the bones weighed 100 tonnes, later it was revised to 70 tonnes. Scientist started digging up the treasure, when farmed alerted them and the researchers discovered bones of seven dinosaurs, each with a height of 120 feet from nose to tail. Cuneo told ABC news, it is the first time they have discovered such a big beast in Patagonia. They expect it will take two more years to remove all the bones from the spot. Some of the bones will remain there on the spot which will be covered by special plaster and the earlier finding has been brought to the museum, where they have been displayed as the new dinosaur species.

Though the largest dinosaur has not yet been named, Cuneo said they would refer name considering the geographical area from where the dinosaur was found. Researchers will choose a name describing its magnificence and which will honor the farm owners who alerted about the treasure. Cuneo has suggested one option “ Super Patagoniasauraus”. Probably, there are still many things to discover from the spot.
