China undertakes reclamation work in the West Philippine Sea

China is now dealing with its  reclamation in the West Philippine Sea to improve the working and living conditions of the Chinese people who are currently positioned on the  disputed islands.
Asked about their reclamation construction works, China reiterates its claims of sovereignty over the Spratlys and neighboring waters.  On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying told reporters in Beijing  that the reclamation activities on islands and reefs in the archipelago are necessary, as they are being undertaken within China’s territorial control.
“As far as I know, the construction work China is undertaking on relevant islands is primarily for the purpose of improving the working and living conditions of people stationed in these islands,” she said.
China’s reclamation developments are in full swing on three more reefs within the Kalayaan Island Group in the Spratlys following  the completion of an artificial islet on Mabini (Johnson South) Reef.
During an aerial investigation last month, Filipino security officials said they  saw China’s reclamation activities on Burgos (Gaven) Reef, Kennan (Chigua) Reef and Calderon (Cuarteron) Reef.
